ABOUT US
OUR STORY
Our story begins with "Casina Grassi," named after the family of the same name that settled there in the early 1900s. Initially used as a vacation home for the summer season, it was later subdivided to house three families of agricultural workers, who were employed in the management of that land. One of these was that of Vito Musardo, a native of Aradeo who moved to San Donaci with his family in 1947.

A few years later Vito decided to purchase part of that land. The remainder was purchased between the 1980s and 2000s by his sons. One of them, Mario Musardo, born and raised in that little house and to which he was very attached, decided in 1993, together with his brothers, to plant 15 hectares of forest, expanding the plant biodiversity. The planting was not easy because of the rocky terrain, which involved the use of mechanical means.
With the passage of time, the forest has grown more and more, mainly due to the commitment and a lot of dedication. Mario and his sons, in 2012 founded the company "Tenute Musardo". During these years they have continued to take care of the forest and the whole company, offering the possibility for the public to visit it. In addition, in 2017 a part of the forest was included in the regional register of educational forests.
The forest today receives school groups and school camps are organized in the summer. It is also open to all families and those who want to immerse themselves in nature.
